The Future...

I have been blessed to be a SAHM for 4 1/2 years now! These last few months have had me thinking A LOT and it's been hard, sad and scary for me....as a mother!

Aiden and Bryson are growing up so fast! Recently I have come to realize that my baby..my first born, Aiden will be 5 soon! He is the most amazing thing that has ever come into my life. Every day he makes me smile! He is truly one of the smartest kids I've ever met. Yes, I know what your thinking...he's my son, of course I would think this! No...he really is! When I read to him he finishes my sentences! He tells me when we look at bird books what the names of the birds are. He knows what a Squid, Octopus, Starfish, Anteater, Bat, Platypus, Porcupine and Armadillo are (I'm sure he learned this from Diego but it's still amazing!). When I ask him to take on a chore at home, he doesn't complain. He looks forward to the challenge and remembers each day that this is his job and is proud to have it! He rarely argues with me. When I ask him to get into bed, he goes and stays there! Recently I have been struggling with that fact that he is losing his first tooth. Even though it's caused from a couple of Hatton cursed accident prone days, I realize that it's inevitable and will happen only a few short months from now, it really bothers me! To me it means he's growing up, not a baby anymore! It's heartbreaking! I have told him that he is NOT allowed to play with his loose tooth. It must stay in as long as possible. I know, I'm crazy!

Oh my, my baby Bryson! Where do I start? He's almost 3 now and is the cutest kid ever! I can't tell ya'll how many times I go to the store or anywhere for that matter and someone stops me to tell me "He's so cute!" and I always say, "Yes he is, Thank you!". What they don't know is that he is my WILD CHILD!!! He's so full of life and outgoing! Just like his aunt Penni! I guess he's not only going to inherit the good looks from her! He loves to tell me "You're not the boss of me" or "I don't care!!!". He also love to eat! He wakes up in the morning and the first thing he does is go to the cupboard and grab breakfast. He can't even wait for me to get up! This continues throughout the day. I wonder if he will ever stop eating!!! He tells us he "LOVES FOOTBALL". This scares me! I always wanted to go to Friday night football but I never thought I could let my child play! I don't want him to get hurt! However, Bryson is a different story! I am pretty confident he will be just fine!

Well, this is the deep truth of what I have been feeling lately! I know some of things are WAY in the future but it's just things that have come up in my thoughts these days! There's much more but you'll have to tune in to my blog to read it!

I apologize for not posting things lately but life has gotten in the way! I plan to go back and catch up soon! I look forward to sharing my deepest darkest motherly thoughts with you soon! '

Love ya'll!
Mel

Cute boys!

Yes, you will notice that I usually dress the boys alike! I'm sure when they are looking back at this blog when they are older they will not like it but they don't have a say right now! ;)

This is just a great picture of them both smiling and looking at the camera, which are few and far between!

4 years ago today....

our first son Aiden was born!
I remember that day so well! It was a dream come true for all of us! All I remember ever wanting in life was to be a wife and mother! This was the day that all of my dreams were coming true! Holding him, knowing that he was a part of Chad and I was the most amazing feeling in the world! I'd never really known that I could love anyone this much!
This kind of love is indescribable!
We had his party out at JuuJuu and PawPaw's house! We rented a Spiderman bounce house and water slide! It was a HOT HOT HOT day so it was a good thing we had a pool and water balloons!

All the kids had a blast!

Then it was time to open presents......

And.....he finally got his four wheeler! He was SO HAPPY! Can you tell?

And of course he had a Spiderman cupcake cake!

What's a party without a Pinata???!!!!!

Happy 4th Birthday Aiden! We love you so much!

Diggin' for Worms!

I love our backyard and I love to see my boys playing in it! They don't even bother playing with toys. Just give them a shovel and a water hose and they're happy!

Today, Aiden came up to me and said, "I have a GREAT idea mommy!" which is his latest thing to say!

I said, "oh yeah, what's that?"

Aiden said, "we should dig up some worms and put em' in a worm bucket and then take them to paw paw's house and catch a big fish"

Chad said, "that is a great idea but don't dig up my grass"

I said, "yes it is but don't dig up my flowers"

Aiden said, "Okay...Bryson, do you want to help me dig for worms?"

Bryson said, "Can we catch a BIG fish bubba?"

Aiden said, "Yes, but we have to find a BIG worm"

Here they are digging in the only dirt spot in the yard! LOL! They crack me up!

The Ranger's game with Daddy and Paw Paw ~ by Chad

Bob and the kids and I spent a day at The Ballpark in Arlington while Melissa and Julia were in New York. Aside from the hour and a half rain delay we had a great time. We all got Josh Hamilton bobble-head dolls, ate ballpark hotdogs and cotton candy, and got to see the angels pitcher get ejected after the second pitch. On top of all that the Rangers put up a 5-3 victory over the LA Angels. Aiden has been to a few games but this was Bryson's first (you couldn't tell that the way he was yelling "GO RANGERS"). As you can see below, both kids had a fun and exciting day at the ballpark.

It's that time of year and if you live in Texas, you never want to miss out getting pictures in the bluebonnets! They are beautiful! We look forward to them EVERY year! This year, we got them done as a family by Rhonda who's an amazing photographer and friend! The kids weren't really cooperative but that's just their personality. I think they turned out great!

First Father Son Project ~ By Chad

We have a bench that has been an ornamental piece on our front porch since the the day we moved in to our home in June of 2003. This bench was a gift to Melissa from her late Grandmother who passed soon after. Needless to say it is a special piece to her. After 6 years it has become extremely weathered and instead of replacing it Aiden and I though it would mean a lot to Mom if we gave it a face lift so we headed to Home Depot. He is quite the helper. We picked up all of the materials we needed and headed home to get started. The attention span of a 3 year old is rather short but in between riding his bike and fighting with his brother we managed to make some progress. It took a few days of working on it but we put the finishing touches on it yesterday. Bryson even helped put it back together. A dad couldnt be any more proud of his 3 year old son than when both of us are lying on our backs and he is holding a piece while I screwed it. Congradulations Mom, your new bench is ready to sit on hopefully for another 6 years.

Boys will be Boys!

Our boys are definitely BOYS!!! They don't share, they wrestle, fight, push. kick, spit, fart, burp, pee in the grass, put their hands in their pants, wear out the knees in their pants, etc. Man, I have a lot to teach them before they start dating or maybe I should let them carry on this way and then I'll never have to worry about girls! LOL!

It's really funny, they fight ALL the time but they really love each other VERY much! Bryson even tells his brother he's sorry even when it's not his fault. Oh and "I'm sorry" always come with hugs in this house. Aiden has a hard time using his words lately and has been screaming at his brother when he makes him mad. This mostly happens when Bryson gets done eating all of his food and then goes after Aiden's! LOL!

Aiden is about to turn 4! He's my little adventurer! He loves the outdoors! Mom actually bought him his first adventure set for Christmas. He still loves it and plays with it! He like to find worms, lady bugs, grasshoppers, rolly pollies, lizard's, etc. He is also going to be daddy's little hunter. He would rather watch hunting or fishing than cartoons on TV! They went to the deer lease this weekend and Chad let him drive the BIG 4 wheeler all by himself. Good thing I wasn't there or I would have had a panic attack! I love him so much!
Bryson is 2 now! He cracks me up! He my little singer! Check out the video below! Pay attention to the eyes. So cute! He loves to sing "I Love You Mommy" and of course has to go through every one's name that we know. I would say his second favorite song is B-I-N-G-O! His latest thing is to say "And" after each sentence. So, he would say "I want to go to the park AND I want to eat AND I want to ride my Tricycle" and this goes on forever. We really need to get busy with potty training. He takes his diaper off every time it's full (of anything)! Good thing it's nice outside now so most of the time whatever is in there that's not absorbed goes on the grass. KWIM? He's my baby! I love him more than life!

Why I've decided to Blog.....

It has been really difficult to keep up with all of the kids milestones. I started scrapbooking and unfortunately, I fell so far behind and have put it on the back burner. One day, when I have a HUGE room just for scrapping, I will get back into it. I also used to send pictures and updates through my email on a regular basis. I don't remember that last time I did that. So, now I'm hoping to fall back in love with writing by blogging so I can capture all of our Hatton Family Adventures and keep all of you updated on a more regular basis. I'm hoping I can even get Chad to post!

We have a lot of fun things planned this year, so fasten your seat belts and get ready to take a ride on the Hatton Family adventure tour!

I hope you will visit our blog often!

Love,
The Hatton's
